Resolving Camper Conflict

November 8, 2018 @ 10:45 am – 12:45 pm

It’s early evening, and the birds are softly singing in the trees. On the ground, the chipmunks and squirrels are playing. It’s just the serene experience that your campers long for – until, out of the blue, a thunderous roar punctures the moment. You realize there’s an argument that has been brewing between two campers, and it’s going to be a problem. So what can you do to diffuse the situation? Calling in the local S.W.A.T. team negotiator seems like overkill. You haven’t been trained in hostile negotiation (unless you count your last experience at the used car lot).

In this session, we’ll give you a superhero tool belt of techniques that you can use to confidently leap into action before the conflict becomes a problem. You won’t stop every conflict – but with some Yogi-style verbal Judo, you can help campers move past their conflict – whether the conflict is all in the family or between different guest families.
